We're going to explore one of the true hidden wonders of Washington, D.C., a Civil War fort nestled deep in Rock Creek Park. In July, 1864, a Confederate Army attempted a surprise invasion of Washington, D.C., hoping to sow panic and drive Congress and President Lincoln from the Capitol. Confederate forces swept into the city, and fought a desperate battle among the northern defenses of Washington. President Lincoln rode over to the see the fighting, the only time in American history a president has been under enemy fire. Eventually Union forces repelled the attack, and Washington was saved. It’s considered one of the greatest what-ifs in American history: Had the Union lost the battle, most historians believe there would have been a negotiated settlement to the war, and a durable Confederate nation. We’re going to visit Fort DeRussy, one of the forts that drove back the Confederate attack, and learn the full story of how the Civil War came to Washington. Abandoned after the war and overgrown, Fort DeRussy was practically lost to history. Today, it’s virtually unknown: I grew up blocks away and didn't even know it was there. It's an astonishing, beautiful ruin in a peaceful forest grove. Other things to note Please check the weather in advance and dress accordingly. Meet at Bladensburg Waterfront Park 15 minutes before departure to talk and outfit before we paddle a couple of miles down to the National Arboretum (part of the USDA's park and research gardens in Washington, D.C. ). If you are game, we'll take trash bags with us to collect any floating debris. After returning from our paddle, we will shuttle to the National Arboretum to enjoy lunch and conversation. Your guide(s) will share stories about the Anacostia and its surroundings, including the story of The Peace Tree (1625), which survived 1945 Hiroshima, Japan, and was later gifted to the Arboretum. About 2-3 hours of time in the kayaks. Total experience is 4.5-5 hours. We will pick you up from our meeting point in Virginia, Washington D.C. and Rockville Maryland, and then we are heading to Gettysburg! The famous Gettysburg is located in Adams County and in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The Battle of Gettysburg (1863) and President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address are to important impactful remarks of the town. The town also hosts visitors to the Gettysburg National Battlefield in the Gettysburg National Military Park. In this tour you will learn about the farm, visit an old spring house, play with mini donkeys, feed rare Kerry Hill sheep and pet and brush Mini Highland cows. Note: You will not go into the pasture with the cows, but you will get to pet and feed them through the fence. You will have an opportunity to go in the pastures with the Mini donkeys and Kerry Hill sheep. Cows, donkeys and sheep are very friendly and will enjoy giving you licks and snuggles. Welcome to Deep Creek Lake! Let’s make some memories together. Welcoming you to my local hometown and Wisp Ski Resort. Wisp is a beautiful resort where I grew up learning how to ski and snowboard. What better way to make memories then a photoshoot on the mountain! As the shoot goes on feel free to ask as many questions about the activities at the resort, and in the area. Being a local gives me insider knowledge to give you the best tips for your experience in Deep Creek! At the end of our session I’ll send you a link to a drop box with all your pictures.

Looking for a fun outdoor activity for the family? Need to de-stress from the craziness of life? Cuddling with animals offers the opportunity to relax your mind and let go of the stress and anxiety for brief period. Not to mention, it's just FUN! During your visit, you will have one hour to cuddle and pet the animals on our micro-farm. Being that this is an outdoor experience, we are really not set up to do cuddle sessions during inclement weather. If we are expecting bad weather for your booked hour, I'm happy to work with you on re-scheduling for a nicer day or time. We currently have lots of Nigerian Dwarf goats of varying ages, a 2.5 year-old miniature Zebu named Molly, a rescue steer named Ferdinand, and two pigs named Charlie and Ellie. We also have numerous chickens, as well as our Holland Lop bunnies Oliver and Willow. ** For the health and safety of both our animals and yours, we do not allow outside animals to visit the farm. ** **We do not have a public bathroom on-site, since this is our home. We'll motor away from the dock, hoist our sails, shut off the motor and let the peacefulness envelop us. We'll sail quietly along, taking in the background lights of the city. As we make our way into the Patapsco River, we'll enjoy the radiance of the moon and stars as they paint the night sky. Join us as we take a trip to Virginia! We will discover from the outside view of the Pentagon, the U.S. Department of Defense. In front of the Pentagon, it’s the National 911 Pentagon Memorial. Then, we will head to George Washington’s Mount Vernon. In the afternoon, we will drive to the Old Town Alexandria for free activities. The atmosphere of the old city is quite different from that of Washington, DC. In the old town, you can enjoy the sunshine, vibrant colors, street music, and unique foods. Itinerary: Washington D.C. → The Pentagon (20 mins) → George Washington's Mount Vernon (180 mins, ticket included) → Self Guided Tour Old Town Alexandria (90 mins) → Washington D.C.

I will take photographs of you while we walk to a few locations throughout Washington DC. This will include the United States Capital Building, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument. If the weather is good, we will also go to a beautiful park where you really feel and see the lovely DC landscape. I will focus on taking pictures in as natural a way as possible, while you go about enjoying the scenery. In the end, you will have professional-looking pictures that I believe you will thoroughly enjoy. We will take a look at some of the pictures and I will then send them to you digitally.
